Inter Med Associates, PC was established in 2000 in Webster by Dr. Ishwara N. Sharma, MD, FACC, board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Inter Med Associates provides a wide range of medical services: Physicians specializing in primary care, cardiovascular disease and gastroen-terology. IMA also has a licensed nutritionist and weight management physician on staff. Other services include Bone Density, Echo Cardiogram, Nuclear Cardio Imaging, Vascular Ultra Sounds.

Regular Appointments: Regular appointments are scheduled to monitor chronic and acute medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, CAD and etc….
Preventative Care: All patients are expected to see their primary care physician at least once a year for an annual physical

Prescription Refills

Request your prescription refills by:

• Calling your pharmacy. The pharmacy will contact your doctor’s office for the refill.


• Use your on-line Patient Portal account to request the prescription refill. www.webstermd.com


• Call your doctor’s office directly.**

**Please allow 24 hours advance notice to refill your prescriptions. Prescription refill requests are filled by the end of each day. Prescriptions are given or sent to your pharmacy at the time of your visit and are supposed to last you through your next scheduled appointment. If you have missed your appointments or have not been seen regularly by your physician, your prescription will only be refilled for a maximum of 30 days and you will be required to schedule an appointment with your physician.

Referral Process

Patients are referred to specialists on as needed basis. Referral requests can be made through the “patient portal” on our Web site (www.websterima.com).

However, if you have a specific request, seven days of advance notice will be required to do the necessary paper work. Most HMOs require that we see patients at least once a year for a complete physical in order to make referrals to specialists.
